FRCC is staffed entirely by wonderful, dedicated volunteers. New Beginnings Thrift Store is open three days a week: Thursday 10am - 4pm, Friday 10am - 4pm, and Saturday 10am - 2pm. Three to five volunteers per day is ideal to keep things running smoothly.
POSSIBLE VOLUNTEERS DUTIES:
Merchandising & Sales
Operating the cash register/computer
Food Bank recipient application intake
Receiving and sorting of donations
Tagging & pricing of items
General cleaning: dusting, polishing, vacuuming
Student volunteers (individuals and groups) are always welcome to help stock shelves, pack food for distribution, and generally serve our clients.
Student Food Bank volunteer expectations: All volunteers must be supervised by a parent, approved FRCC adult worker, or team leader if under the age of 18. Students must commit to staying for the entire distribution, focus on their volunteer work and the experience while at FRCC (i.e. limited cell phone use).
