ABOUT US
The Flat Rock Community Center currently packs and distributes food to qualified individuals and families once a month, with applicant numbers often doubling monthly.
The assistance we provide to our community would not be possible without the help and donations from individuals, families, organizations, businesses, and area churches.
Together we make it happen
Volunteers are the heart and soul of the Center. Caring people of all ages donate their time, energy and resources to better our community
New Beginnings Thrift Store provides low cost clothing, household items, and other assorted merchandise to the public. Along with donations, the money collected by our store is used for food purchases and operating costs.

The mission of the Flat Rock Community Center, Inc. is to provide assistance to our neighbors in need through education,
advocacy, and the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food.
Our intention is to provide assistance without discrimination and adhere to core Christian values.
Without the intention of making profit, we accept donations of food items, clothing and household items
approved for sale in our thrift store and monetary donations for operating expenses and food purchases
from churches, individuals, businesses and organizations.
The Flat Rock Community Center began serving the people of Jackson and Dekalb counties in Alabama in April, 2009.
We operate an ecumenical food pantry as an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation under the guidance of a Board of Directors.
